Benefits of Seminar Participation

Health Care Professionals can learn Ayurvedic methods to integrate into their existing practice.

People who cannot participate in our Ayurvedic Studies Program due to time or lifestyle contraints, can participate as an alternative to the full program.

Students utilize the seminars to enrich their studies, focusing on subjects of personal interest. They gain a more in-depth understanding of Ayurvedic principles introduced in the curriculum.

Correspondence Course or self-study students can augment their studies and focus on specific Ayurvedic areas of interest.

Prospective students attend to meet our staff and confirm their decision to participate with us. These classes are a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Ayurveda while fulfilling their professional requirements.

Participants earn a Certificate of Attendance, suitable for framing. Approved professionals receive a Certificate listing earned Continuing Education Units.

Ayurvedic Weekend Seminars

Weekend Seminars are designed to focus upon popular Ayurvedic themes. They are a mixture of popular interest and advanced Ayurvedic concepts. Vasant Lad's seminars are usually a mixture of some information that is given in the regular Ayurvedic Studies Program and additional information that is not. He generally offers four weekend seminars between January and May each year. The topics vary from year to year. Click on the link at the top of this page for our current schedule.

The weekend programs begin Friday evening at 7:00 and conclude around 9:00. Saturday, the programs run from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Sunday there is a morning session from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the weekend programs end with the Sunday afternoon session from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

Weekend seminar programs at the Ayurvedic Institute generally follow a similar schedule. Please inquire about the particulars for any one specific program. Vasant Lad's Friday evening lecture is free and open to the general public. (Reservations are required.)

Ayurvedic Summer Intensives

This series of workshops provides more profound knowledge on the specific topics presented. It is also an opportunity for those who cannot move to Albuquerque to study Ayurveda in depth. These intensives offer a more focused study of topics that may have been introduced in the school year. Vasant Lad teaches this series of Summer Intensives each year in June and July, immediately following the Ayurvedic Studies Program. Click on our Event Calendar for the current schedule. Some workshops have limited seating, so please enroll early.

The 2008 Intensives begin on Fridays at 7 PM and continue through the following Thursday, ending at 6 PM. Direct contact hours with Vasant Lad constitute about 2/3 of the 38 hours of total class time. Each 7-Day Intensive is $660. There will be a slightly higher per-week price for the Panchakarma Theory and Practicum due to materials costs.

Also available: Most Intensives have a Weekend Only Option--Friday, Saturday and Sunday--for just $270!

The Intensives generally begin on Fridays at 7 PM and continue every day through the following Thursday, ending at 6 PM.
In general, participants may enroll for the first three days of the Intensive, that is, the weekend portion, or for the full seven-day program.
Some Intensives may have pre-requisites.
A detailed class schedule is sent to seminar participants upon enrollment.
There are 38 hours of class time during each seven-day Intensive. Direct contact hours with Vasant Lad constitute about 2/3 of the total class time.
