Marma points are an important element of Ayurveda’s healing power. Developed centuries ago in India, these energy points profoundly affect the body, mind and spirit and facilitate the deepest levels of healing by tapping into prana, the body’s current of life-infusing energy. A diagnostic and therapeutic tool, marma therapy can be used on yourself and others to relieve pain, stimulate immunity, detoxify, balance emotions, and enhance awareness and more.

In this week-long summer intensive, prepare to immerse yourself in both the study and practice of giving and receiving marma treatments. Massage and physical therapists, nurses, Ayurvedic counselors and practitioners have found great benefit in the study of Marma Chikitsa — as have those who come with an open mind and heart and absolutely no experience in bodywork or healing!

Learn about the physical and spiritual dimensions of 102 different bodily marmani through lecture, demonstration and practicum. A powerful tool for the healing of both self and others, marma unfolds radical, spiritual and alchemical change in one’s constitution.

Here’s what participants had to say about last summer’s Marma Intensive:

“Beautiful, professional, mind-blowing, heart opening.” – Cathy

“I’m coming away with new friends around the globe and a better understanding of how sensitive and effected we are by all aspects of our life…and how effective subtle treatments can be on our health and well being.” – Mary

“The experience was rich with wisdom that was easy to receive because of how clearly organized the daily process was – from parking, to the structure of the day, to the layout out of the room and knowledgeable staff.” – Claire

“The program is beautifully organized and peaceful, the staff supportive and helpful, and Vasant Lad a wonderful source of knowledge, humor, and healing touch.” – Susan
